So today I attempted making my website, our teacher suggested wix.com where we can easily make websites of our own choice.

After logging in through my gmail account, they asked me what kind of website I wanted to mske, I went for the option 'music'

Later I was showed a number of templates, I could choose from. They were all very creative and interactive.

after going through all of them, I decided to choose this one:




This one is very decent to look at, the pattern was exactly what I was looking for.



Then, I started editing it, starting from the background and setting it to water movement,






then I moved on to add images and album covers, through the upload image options.




I uploaded the images and set them where they looked good.

furthermore, I changed the settings, I changed the 'tour dates' link to Lyrics, In the end this what my site looks like,




this the first panel, with soundtrack and album cover.




second panel with lyrics. font used is lighter so that it can be read easily.






a small background and concept for better understanding.




and then there is my music video.
I gave it a blue-ish tone, to symbolise gloomy atmosphere, melancholic vibe.

WEBSITE RESERACH

before making website I researched about them and took a look on quite a few from similar artists, some of the ideas and layouts I liked and took inspiration from are:

DIGIPAK

I first started my digipak making by first selecting a template from internet in large size:

this is the template i choose.

Next I search through the pictures, I wanted to place as the front cover.




this was the picture I took when we traveled to north. To make the picture's colors stand out, I used VSCO on my phone to edit this picture. then I used another photo editing app called snapspeed and used their 'healing' feature.







I made the face of actress vanish to represent euphoria and hallucination, with a scenic background. effects of drug intake. Next, through Premier pro 6 I added text,





I also used RGB curves and added a bluish-greenish gradient and reduced the opacity to that the colours are added to original picture.

My album name is PURE HEROINE, same as the original.

For the back outside, I used another similar picture, of a boy.

This was also edited through VSCO, i used the fade feature. furthermore to add text, i used  premiere pro 6:

I also applied RGB curves to bring out the colors.

for inside left, i chose a photo taken during shoot to give a glimpse of a video.

 After compiling all of them in Photoshop 6, by using shift+I, shift+V, shift+T keys, I cut and pasted pictures upon pictures.

SHOTS I WANTED TO TAKE.

In this section I would discuss all the shots I wanted to take but couldn't take due to lack of equipments.

1)

instead of this shot, I actually wanted to achieve the timelapse of traffic at a very low shutter speed. To show the motion in blur. My camera only could facilitate shutter speed down to 30.

2)

I wanted to take a timelaspe of a person standing and buses passing , taken from back. However they didnt allow my equipment inside the station.

3)
I also wanted to take a shot of face covered with hands and camera revolving above it. I tried it but the results were very shakes because my camera was handheld and the surroundings were not aesthetic.

4)
I wanted to go for green screen instead of projector. But went for projection due to lack of space and equipment.

POST PRODUCTION AND COMPILING ( part 2)

1)

eye imagery

 After reducing the saturation and making the clip more faded, I applied RGB curves to give it more color, I worked on the green graph to give it a vibrant look and a trippy effect. Here I also applied the green gradient and used blend mode.

to make it more aesthetic, I added slight glitch to it by controlling channel set option in after effects, but later I found it unappealing and did not use it.





Originally I wanted something with a message reflecting vividly inside the eye,  something like this:





                          this is a shot take from WINGS (6) by BTS, I took inspiration from it and created my                                                                                 own:

Inside my edit, there is a scene from a famous and well known 80s anime called 'COWBOY BEBOP' (with a protagonist addicted to smoking)  and if you look closely there is a no smoking sign. So through this I tried to give out the 'no smoking'  message. I used after effects to create this through blending mode and added some 3D features to make it curve along the eye ball.

But in the end I went back to the first option, taking inspiration from The requiem for a dream, i showed contraction and relaxation of the pupil, symbolizing drug intake. I did this by using a light source and directing it to the eye. Putting this clip on repeat, I tried to show the abuse and over dose.

                                                 2) ROAD IMAGERY

I added a lot of road imagery in my music video, I gave my road clips more faded and blue-ish look by using RGB curves and applying a dark blue gradient. I also applied warp stabilizer since they were handheld and shaky.

I was inspired by the music video of sweater weather by Neighborhood, in whole video they are on the road without revealing any idea of their destination.

Through this I show how the teenagers have a bleak and uncertain future, they have no idea about their destination and living is just like driving on an empty, unending road. Delivering a sense of isolation.


                               
                               I also projected this clip behind my lip sync actor. Since the projector was not of very high quality, it gave off faded colors. I made all the lip sync part black and white  through monochrome feature in premiere pro 6 and let it be ambiguous as to why it is in monochrome. She could be dead or older and singing this song that she experienced when she was young.
the idea of back ground being road was inspired by Day6 music video of 'I Wait', they used green screen instead.

                    3) PILLS AND CIGARETTE IMAGERY

 

I also wanted to show some cigarettes and drugs more than just symbolizing them, I really liked a scene from the movie INGLORIOUS 

BAST**DS, it was slow motion of cigarette flying. I wanted to shoot just like the one above, but it was impossible to flip a cigarette like that. So i tied a thread from one end of the cigarette and moved in from left to right:

Here I used a spotlight and placed it above sideways, so that the cigarette is highlighted, just like how art pieces are placed in the museums with spotlights above them. This draws out the concept of how media romanticizes smoking.
To make it more vibrant, I used RGB curves on them and also slowed down the speed by 30% making it look like something used for hypnotizing, again symbolizing distorted truth.

I took the inspiration and shot something similar to this.
I used RGB curves to make it more vibrant and stand out from black background and slowed it down by 45% again i used a spotlight. I repeated this shot over and over in my video to show repetition of same events and addiction.

 
I used a black background for both of these shots.
